The theory

There have been many theories as to what causes brain tumours, ranging from exposure to electromagnetic fields to the use of mobile phones, however to date a cause that can explain the majority of cases has not been established.

Professor Cobbs of the University of San Francisco California suggested a link between a common Herpes virus - Cytomegalovirus (CMv) and brain tumours. This virus theory rang true for my Dad's glioblastoma multiforme (GBM IV) experience and I believe it is the cause not only of the majority of brain cancers but also of breast, prostate, ovarian and colon cancers.

I have put together a paper that summarises the theory in an easy to read format and applies it to current trends in brain tumour incidence. In essence it suggests that

LATE INFECTION WITH CMV = TUMOURS

For me CMv answers all the questions I have about this unfortunate condition and has helped me and my family evaluate treatment decisions. Getting off dexamethasone for example became a high priority.
